So I often forget what I have set to record on my DVR. I wake up in the morning and check. There’s always a surprise or two in my list.

Like yesterday. I had recorded “The Rookies”. It’s a show that follows new police recruits.

So I watched. I like the show. I remembered why I set it to record in the first place.

And the episode was almost over. I was figuring out what to watch next. And they had some on-screen text. “Rookie made xx arrests.” “Rookie did xxx.” And then they started going into his responding to a domestic. And how he was shot. And died.

I don’t think I have ever cried harder watching a TV show.
